Box of Cookies is not just another limited edition screen print company. Box of Cookies is all about friendship.
Box of Cookies is equally about the creation and the result.
We love flaws. We embrace mistakes. We respect the imperfect. To us, a face with scars is more beautiful than a super model.
Constantly pushing the borders and bondaries, Box of Cookies is on
a mission to find long forgotten printing techniques - not for the sake
of being "different", but to preserve traditions. Just like vinyl
records are more interesting than compact discs or even MP3s, and just
like analog photography is more interesting than a snapshot with a
fancy cell phone, Box of Cookies draws influence from the masters of a
time gone by, the unsung heroes, the masters and the fuck ups at the
same time.
There is no "typical" Box of Cookies print. We celebrate diversity.
Our
artists push themselves to new limits, and our house printer brings
their vision to life. Box of Cookies is art and alchemy, it's
experimentation and tradition, it's trial and error.
Box of Cookies is crass and sophisticated.
Box of Cookies is dirty and delicious.
L'idée initiale était d'éditer des posters d'art venant à l'encontre de la soupe assez fade que diffuse l'industrie de la décoration et juste proposer quelque chose de différent, d'un peu plus pimenté.
Et puis très vite, les éditions s'enchainant, il nous est apparu primordial, de diffuser des affiches avec des formats un peu plus imposants, avec une technique d'impression toujours plus traditionnelle, plus qualitative, quitte à terme, pouvoir s'affranchir de l'ordinateur au maximum. Parce que nous sommes de la génération de l'analogique et que nous aimons ses défauts et sa chaleur !
- Les estampes éditées par Box Of Cookies sont imprimées en sérigraphies.
- Les éditions sont limitées
- Elles sont signées par l'artiste/graphiste et numérotées.
Box Of Cookies allie le savoir-faire de notre sérigraphe maison, Pierre, que nous poussons à chaque fois dans ses retranchements et la vision des graphistes, illustrateurs, artistes français ou européens qui constituent la BOC family.
"Le marché de l'estampe reste un marché de niche et d'amateurs! Le but est de permettre aux curieux et collectionneurs qui n'osent pas rentrer dans une galerie, de pouvoir accrocher sur leur mur une estampe originale.
Nous faisons tout pour satisfaire et répondre à cette demande, mais aussi nous faire plaisir et progresser sur le chemin de l'édition.
Box of Cookies, c'est la convergence de personnalités atypiques, d'horizons différents."

Bitches in Control, or BIC, is a collective of two tough chicks that have been working together since 2003. They met at Punct, a gallery for young artists in Tilburg, and started working together.
After a period of time where the BIC members F.Lady and Lowlita made a lot of works in the street (stickers, posters and graffiti), they both finished their studies at the art academy and started to make free work. Since 2003 they have also been organising exhibitions at different venues for various national & international (street-) artists.
The works they make today are highly influenced by the works they used to make in the streets, their love for screenprinting and by their role as women in the ‘street-art’ scene.

Thomas Reitmayer draws, paints, takes photos, does graphic design, skates, eats, sleeps, drinks, loves, and lives in Vienna, Austria.
He publishes GLW/DRK Magazine and is the art director for Audiolith Records.
Some of the stuff on his desk includes adhesive tape, a gazillion pens, two glue sticks, x-acto knives, a pencil sharpener, a black keyboard, CD-Rs, a book about human anatomy, a stack of skate magazines, staples, a ruler, a lighter, a sketchbook, an old broken walkman, a book of matches, an ashtray, a cup of coffee, four unpaid bills, corrector fluid, an MP3 player, and his camera.
When he does not work on art shit, he loves to guzzle coffee, collects vinyl records, does the occassional DJ set every now and then, and doesn't actually look quite all that bad for an old man.
